Forms
Below are downloadable forms required by public authorities in certain matters. Please note that the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO) prefers receiving simple copies of signed documents, whereas the European Patent Office (EPO) requires signed documents in original.
A power of attorney is required for Bryn Aarflot AS (BAA) to represent the applicant towards the NIPO in patent and trademark applications. In design matters, a power of attorney is only required for withdrawal of an application.
In patent applications, a declaration of the applicant’s right to the invention is required. An EP power of attorney is only required for withdrawal of a European patent.
A separate opposition power of attorney is required in order for BAA to represent the opponent in opposition matters.
Power of attorney (Norway)
The general power of attorney authorizes BAA to represent the client before the NIPO in all patent, design and/or trademark applications/registrations. A general power of attorney also allows BAA to represent the signatory in opposition matters. The filing of a general power of attorney does not automatically result in BAA becoming the counsel on record in all existing matters, and we will of course assume responsibility for specific matters only after receiving instructions. Please insert the applicant’s/owner’s name below the signature. |
| Declaration |
A declaration as to the applicant’s right to the invention needs to be signed by the applicant. |
| Assignment |
This form can be used to confirm assignment of patent, design and/or trademark applications and registrations, and should be signed by the assignor.
Please state the application(s) and/or registration(s) to which the assignment applies. The name and business address of the assignee must be included. The assignor’s name must be inserted under the signature. |
EPO power of attorney
An EPO power of attorney is not necessary for authorizing BAA to represent the applicant before the EPO, but required by withdrawing a European patent. Please include the name of the applicant/owner below the signature. |
